L’Écrin is the extension of a Montreal duplex in the lively neighborhood of Côte-des-Neiges. This new extension not only reimagines the kitchen and living area but also creates a semicovered outdoor space to provide privacy for the clients. The installation in gallery 1 appears like a display in a geographical society, recounting the uncertain outcome of a mountaineering expedition. Signal House is a missing middle prototype addressing the nation’s shortage of attainable urban housing. The single-stair, walk-up infill building, located less than a block from a key transit hub in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, fits three units on a modest lot that would more typically be slated for use as a single-family rowhome. A new house appeared with its black framing porch and facade in Szőreg, the oldest district of Szeged. The house breaks with the bad traditions in the neighborhood that created dark closed interiors close to the woods. The main goal with this new project was letting nature as close as possible to the house, regarding the plot takes place on a loess hill next to nature conservation woods, next to the context of front-gabled houses.
