The ‘Pasture’ area between the municipalities of Novazzano and Balerna is located within a wide plain defined by the traces of two different infrastructure systems. Lopes Brenna

The new A-D museum building is placed at the point of contact between the urban trace of helsinki and the promontory’s orography towards the south.
The building, that looks to the sea, defines a clear urban moment – of land and water – made of wide spaces intended for meeting, market and of docking areas.
Respectively, towards the south, the ‘saaret’ project brings together the green areas of Kaivopuisto promontory and the water line. Continue reading Lopes Brenna

The new project develops in balance with the existing buildings, so that the whole can be read as a single entity on the scale of the territory. In this way, the new complex tends to engage in a dialogue with the Sarine river facing it and with the other significant built presences surrounding it, such as the Hauterive Abbey and large agricultural structures. Le projet part de la conservation et de la mise en valeur de l’ancien dépôt de l’arsenal ainsi que de la volonté de l’intégrer dans une expérience scénographique d’ensemble.

“L’autre moitié” est un grand hangar longitudinal qui suit l’édifice existant et en reproduit la géométrie.

Dans ce nouvel espace se trouve l’exposition sur une double hauteur, générant ainsi une surface continue, qui permet une facilité de parcours et une possibilité de variations scénographiques. Elle offre également au visiteur l’expérience d’une relation constante à l’ancien bâtiment. Continue reading Lopes Brenna
