Casa Wabi Mushroom Pavilion . Puerto Escondido

The function of the Mushroom Pavilion, as its name suggests, is to cultivate fungi, but also the exchange between food and the local communities of Puerto Escondido by teaching them about the growth process. It will also be integrated into the kitchen of the foundation and of Hotel Escondido. To convey this simple yet important purpose, we conceived a pavilion as a basic, oval form. Like an incubating egg, the self-supporting ellipsoid is derived from an optimized interior organization for growing mushrooms. Continue reading OMA

House for 5 women . Gradačac

The House for Five Women provides housing for women who have survived war, violence, and social injustice. Set in the countryside close to Gradačac, a small town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the project offers a model for care, mutual support and community engagement. The house is based on the idea that individuals best grow and live together with self-determination and shared responsibility. The project seeks to go beyond prescriptive solutions. It fosters a culture rooted in its environment without dictating all the details, and allows identity to be reinvented daily.
