Mixed building: offices and laboratories . Zurich
The project is located within the confines of a former aerodrome which is about to be converted into a campus dedicated to research in bio-technologies, aeronautics and robotics. It consists of a typology of mixed work spaces in which the principle is to connect two usually distinct buildings: an office block and a laboratory block designed to accommodate life-scale experiments and large robots. The project of the Celje Transport Centre represents a key development investment for the future of the city. Due to its strategic importance, it requires a comprehensive and long-term consideration that exceeds the usual framework of planning. The location must be evaluated from the perspective of economic, infrastructural, social, and cultural potentials. The thinking must be visionary, at least ten steps ahead, and open to various possible futures. Crucial is the formation of several development scenarios that take into account the uncertainties and opportunities of the city’s future development.
