Storefront’s current exhibition “Sharing Models: Manhattanisms” presents 30 conceptual and physical models for the city by 30 international architects. Each vision establishes an analytical, conceptual, and physical framework for inhabiting and constructing urban space and the public sphere. Each of the drawings that accompany the 30 models in “Sharing Models: Manhattanisms” will be auctioned throughout the duration of the exhibition. La tipología de casa patio está muy presente en el valle alrededor de Nalati, y es una de sus mas notables características. Proponemos desarrollar las viviendas alrededor de los mismos conceptos que rodean el parque natural: muros, y edificios, situados cuidadosamente superponiendose en distintas geometrías de organización.
Y, aprendiendo de la arquitectura tradicional de las casas patio de Nalati, que utiliza con frecuencia grandes ventanales orientados a sur con paredes interiores que absorben el calor, nuestra propuesta seguirá una estrategia similar. Continue reading RICA Studio

The nature interpretation center will be located within the limits of Ithaca, where there’s barely any sign of small constructions on the horizon. This is our focus point. We try to capture distance with our view because it allows us to contemplate the attractive geometry of the ploughed fields, the olive and vine tree plantations and the random encounters with nature. For this reason, our building gets distorted, it turns, it gets fragmented and i trises, as if it were imitating the vine branches, capturing the best shots of the immediate surroundings.
