La Casa Encendida is one of the epicenters of Madrid’s artistic and cultural tissue. It is one of those very few centers that truly combines the essence of an experimental artistic center of reference with a series of services, workshops, and intergenerational cultural contents, while also having a great impact in the neighborhood … some girls come prepared to let their feet dance at an art and music festival on the terrace and they come across a lady with her grandson who come from consulting some books in the library after having attended a workshop on how to make dioramas. Xeito investments, a Family Office of the Mahía Solís family, co-founders of the CAAMAÑO group, is a company orientated towards investing in industrial businesses and sustainable movement. With its Galician DNA but an international projection, their work philosophy is to do things “with xeito”, which in Galician means doing things with a combination of knack, style and class.The world seems to have changed a lot since we started the project of this office space until it has finally come to light, with pandemic included in the middle of the building proc.However, all our inicial ideas prove us once again that thinking about spaces in terms of flexibility permit projects to be reborn stronger than before. Gerardo is the owner of a well-known restaurant in Madrid. Pilar has just ventured into a new business by opening a bakery. Her son Guillermo has just finished his musical percussion career and wants to do a master’s degree abroad. They lived together in a spacious apartment of more than 150 square meters in Madrid but now that Guillermo will go out they decide to renovate a small apartment of about 70 square meters that they own. Cities are going to need more and more compact housing solutions every day, which consume less resources and take advantage of the most precious space each day.
The change of housing is for Pilar and Gerardo a conscious alternative.
