Following an international competition, Barozzi Veiga’s proposal in collaboration with ADT-Atelier Delalande Tabourin and Franck Boutté for the PortziX Architecture Competition was selected as the winning design.

Ideally located on the cliff, facing the Atlantic Ocean and overlooking the Goulet de Brest, the new production site for Exail group is conceived as a compact and pragmatic project open towards the landscape. The expression of the building is concentrated in the slim shape of its volume, completed by some adjunct elements, influenced by a certain naval architecture. The design meets a series of demanding challenges, ranging from the adaptability and flexibility of the spaces, the minimization of the building’s environmental impact, as well as the cohesion and well-being of the employees desired for this site.
