In collaboration with Piercy & Co, this housing scheme establishes a diagrid framework into which three housing typologies interlock creating a landscape with varying degrees of public and private exterior spaces. For the love of materials, a pavilion made of gypsum, then stone & wood, for Visible invisible, the exhibition for the Biennale d’Architecture et de Paysage d’Île-de-France, curated by Nicolas Dorval-Bory and Guillaume Ramillien, open from 5/14 to 7/13 and organised by the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles. The exhibition aims to highlight a new generation of architects, artists and engineers who directly consider material (stone, wood, earth…) and energy resources (sun, water, thermodynamics…), which are the visible and invisible materials of the exhibition, to develop projects. The proposal for The Garden Museum is an aggregated form distributed around the periphery of St Mary’s Gardens. The interconnected building fragments, including volunteers room, breakout space, tool room and storage, in unison softly fortify the garden. Each fragment is altered in height, in frontage and detail to address its facing condition; internally, to embrace the garden and horticulture, and externally, to celebrate the city.
