The project aims to create an extraordinary place, an atmosphere, to create an existing to make the people want to settle down. If a landscape does exist, there’s nothing to do, except delicately slip into it. On the Saclay plateau, void and flat, there is no horizon, no linking point. This place will be a forest. 1 ha of open ground, planted with big trees, pretending the forest was already here, when the ENS will settle.
It takes an identity from the site history, the past geography and the forest that used to be there.
The forest is installed on the natural ground, 3 meters beneath the street level, in order to give natural light to the underground floor and to optimize its use. Continue reading Lacaton & Vassal . Druot
