In the 1890, the construction of this modest building on Villarroel Street was completed. Despite its age, this reserved attitude is a recent fact. In its time, the so-called Plà Cerdà was been developed only for 30 years, starting to give its name to the district to which this dwelling now belongs: l’Eixample. Cercle Calongí renovation . Calonge

The building of Cercle Calongí society, inaugurated in 1924, is located in the main square of Calonge old town. The organization has recently ceded part of the building to the City Council to be renewed as a cultural public facility. The project transforms a house in the historic area of ​​Carrer Major, in the old town of Gelida. It is a house with a ground floor, a first floor, and a semi-basement used as storage. Located on a corner, the original house – from the beginning of the 20th century – lost its garden due to the construction of a block to which some rooms of the house were annexed.
