Based on the urban master plan, a residential estate with a high identity is being created along the Bellariarain. The residential buildings, staggered in long and point houses, and their integration into an overall figure with a strong topographical reference are anchored in the neighbourhood and in the residential park in terms of scale. The landscaping is a contemporary interpretation of Gustav Ammann’s residential park in terms of design and function and takes up the pathways from the neighbourhood, allowing residents to experience the landscape on different paths. Situated in the woods,this small holiday home manages to make the most on a very small budget. The outside of the house is entirely covered in corrugated fibre cement boardswhich are normally used as a roofing material for barns and other types of agricultural buidings. Winning competition proposal for the redesign of 1014 Fifth Avenue. The 1906 townhouse is owned by the German government and will be renovated and reconfigured to become a cultural centre for transatlantic dialogue and exchange between Germany and the USA. The design opens up the house to promote the sharing ideas, building on its domestic history as a former German ambassador’s residence to combine a residency scheme with a public programme.
