Updated scheme of the National Archaeological Museum in Athens as it gets green light.
The Central Archaeological Council and the Central Council of Modern Monuments, advisory bodies of the Ministry of Culture, have unanimously approved the proposed studies for the expansion and upgrade of the Hellenic National Archaeological Museum.
Following an international competition won in 2023, the project comprises a major extension and refurbishment, responding to the museum’s need for increased exhibition space and an expanded programme, while meeting contemporary international standards for sustainability and museum design.
