The external appearance of the house is of particular concern to us. It should naturally become part of the Hohenems urban landscape, which is why a facade system in natural wood was designed, allowing the building to “age into” the place with quiet serenity.
Our house in Wagnerstraße is part of the development in the village-like Ems – the fourth quarter of Hohenems city center. From Hohenems Schlossplatz, you enter the “village” through an archway, a very unique world at the foot of the Schlossberg and the Alt-Ems castle ruins. At the picturesque confluence of the Ems and Salzbach rivers, mills, sawmills, and other crafts were operated from the 16th to the 20th century.
Two small museums and an enchanting collection of detached residential and craft houses around the rushing waterways still bear witness to this today.·
