The Wolf freight yard area, inaugurated in 1876, is a unique railway facility near Basel. With the departure of international freight traffic, opportunities for urban development are emerging. In 2023, a development plan was approved.
The new building MF02 on the Wolf site translates needs into spaces and uses that can be adapted and appropriated. The focus is on individual lifestyles, social contacts and living together. Apartments with rooms of the same size allow for a range of living arrangements, such as for families or shared accommodation. The future reusability is strengthened by the optimized load-bearing system, the choice of materials and the construction method.
