Our proposal subverts the concept of the “house with a pool,” which is so prevalent, accepted, and replicated in the outskirts of cities, by constructing a pool that houses a home within it. This design creates an experience through the use of the dwelling, linking the different sensations presented in each space in relation to water, with two complementary pathways:
1. Emerging
The arrival at the house occurs underwater; it begins with an ascent through the interior where each room of the home is positioned differently in relation to the pool’s water level. This results in water windows leading to a flooded courtyard, skylights beneath the water illuminating the spaces, water-level windows reflecting rays of light and views, a living room submerged 90 cm that allows for the observation of the reflected landscape while seated, and exterior platforms at varying levels. The journey concludes at a viewpoint that offers a leap over the flooded courtyard.
2. Submerging
The second pathway involves a direct experience with water, presenting different approaches to bathing. There is a wet platform to moisten feet or lie down, a 90 cm flooded courtyard for playing and walking, an underwater seat for resting and observing the landscape, or a beach area to immerse oneself in the deeper section where one can swim, dive from the viewpoint, snorkel, or observe the activity inside the house through the water windows.
The project gains meaning through its use and experimentation. The water, its sound, and interaction with light not only allow each space to be perceived differently depending on the time of day but also blur the boundaries of the house by virtually incorporating the distant topography of the west and Granada, landscapes that become part of each room according to the situation.·

Nuestra propuesta subvierte la ‘casa con piscina’, tan presente, aceptada y replicada en los aledaños de las ciudades, construyendo una piscina que alberga una casa en su interior. Se genera una experiencia a través del uso de la vivienda que liga las diferentes sensaciones planteadas en cada espacio en su relación con el agua, con dos recorridos complementarios: 𝟭. 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 La llegada a la casa se produce bajo el agua; comienza un recorrido de ascensión por el interior donde cada estancia de la vivienda presenta una posición diferente con respecto al nivel de la piscina. De esta forma aparecen ventanas de agua a un patio inundado, lucernarios bajo el agua que iluminan estancias, ventanas a ras de agua que reflejan los rayos de luz y las vistas, un salón sumergido 90 cm que permite la observación del paisaje reflejado estando sentado o plataformas exteriores a diferentes niveles. El recorrido termina en un mirador que plantea un salto sobre el patio inundado. 𝟮. 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗿𝘀𝗲 El segundo recorrido implica una experiencia directa con el agua, planteando diferentes aproximaciones al baño. Aparece una plataforma mojada para humedecer los pies o tumbarse, un patio inundado 90 cm para jugar y andar, un asiento bajo el agua donde poder descansar y observar el paisaje o una playa para sumergirse en la zona más profunda donde poder nadar, zambullirse desde el mirador, bucear u observar la actividad del interior de la casa a través de las ventanas de agua. El proyecto cobra sentido a través de su uso y experimentación. El agua, su sonido e interacción con la luz, no sólo permite que cada espacio se perciba diferente dependiendo de cada instante del día, sino que difumina los límites de la casa incorporando virtualmente la topografía lejana de poniente y Granada, paisajes que pasan a formar parte de cada estancia, según la situación.
