Complementing the existing main building of the Restaurant Brücke in Niedergösgen, a wooden annex is being added that fits into the riverbank setting on the Aare. The supplementary building with flat roof is intended as an arbour, a porch rather than a solitary structure. The ensemble of old and new buildings is organised on a single level, so that the restaurant kitchen in the original building is on the same floor as the dining room in the new annex. The main façade facing the Aare is horizontally divided into three zones.

The concrete base zone takes up the height differences of the existing topography and creates a connection between the terrain and the façade. The lower zone features generous guillotine windows that create a relationship to the outdoors and the river. A high-ceilinged dining room can accommodate 50 guests. The furnishings are designed to flexibly accommodate both restaurant and banquet set-ups. Warm materials enhance the lounge character. Ventilation and building services for the restaurant are located in the upper part of the extension on a separate technical floor.
