DANCE STUDIO’S ROSAS RENOVATION . Vorst
A former milk factory in Vorst is home to Anne Teresa De Keersmaker’s dance company Rosas, and her dance school P.A.R.T.S. Part of the infrastructure is used by Ictus, an ensemble for contemporary music.
The architectural assignment includes the main building and the dance studios as well as the detached caretaker’s house. Taking on the existing steel structure, the roof of the dance studios is being redesigned, in search of a logical construction with a lightness and materiality that meets the needs of a dance company such as Rosas. The main building and the caretaker’s house are freed from previous ad hoc adjustments, and their identity is strengthened.
