KuehnMalvezzi with CCHE, Geneve won the international competition for the BÂTIMENT D’ART CONTEMPORAIN (BAC) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The primary aim of the project is to free the building of the accumulated interventions to which it has been subject over time. A new entrance on rue des Vieux-Grenadiers re-galvanises the neighbourhood and serves as a gathering point by providing not only a general reception area but also an open and convivial common hub accessible to all.
The project extends to the roof, which will welcome a pavilion designed to host both indoor and open-air artistic happenings. Energy and environmental considerations are incorporated into every aspect of the project design.
By 2026-2027, a new emblematic centre for contemporary art will open its doors to the public.
