Situated on a plateau near the Costa de la Luz, Vejer de la Frontera is one of Andalusian white villages, characterised by narrow streets, whitewashed houses with red tiled roofs and medieval city walls.

The house was designed by the Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus and the execution works were supervised and completed by Studio Vierna 9 (Arch. Javier Montero and Tomás Carranza). This traditional building has been adapted to suit modern needs. The typological characteristics of the old town house have been preserved, while recent additions and decorative elements were removed to restore the original architectural harmony. The result is a striking composition of rooms on several levels, different building materials and varied forms. Interior and exterior spaces blend into each other, curves meet straight surfaces, light and shadows enrich white surfaces.

The rooms are grouped around a central patio. On the ground floor there is a large living room with a fireplace and an open kitchen. A newly added interior staircase leads to the first floor, where there is a bedroom, a bathroom and a terrace with pool. Via an external staircase you reach the bedroom on the second floor. On the same level there is a bathroom with views over the rooftops and a private terrace. You can also climb up another set of stairs to reach the roof terrace with views of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean all the way to Morocco. The house was completed in 2017.
