Design proposal for the Site Cloister ‘Aldeia da Mata’ dolmen competition, organized by ArkxSite.
The volume is positioned on the site in a way that it creates new perspectives towards the Dolmen. It appears as a tilted volume, deepened into the landscape thus allowing the creation of a sheltered space where the program takes place. By doing this, higher and lower points of view enable new perspectives towards the Dolmen. The entrance shows itself as a starting point of the museological path, as well as an identifying feature of the whole ensemble and a space to reflect upon the memory of the place. The path simultaneously encloses the historical monument, highlighting it from afar and its abstract character stresses its relationship with the landscape.
