The 2018 Knoll Pavilion designed by OMA is inspired by Marcel Breuer’s work, and in particular the Whitney museum of American Art with its suspended modular ceiling.
The pavilion is defined by a double grid: both the ceiling and the floor perform as a flexible Cartesian infrastructure, jointly supporting the articulation of the space. Modularity, prefabrication and geometry generate an adaptable, utilitarian field.
