The context is the historic, noble, of the city of Lisbon, next to the river Tagus, a place of dense urban continuities, punctuated by notable buildings; Palaces, convents and Churches. The monumental building has the sobriety of our history and its continuation the project rests.

The recovery of the Palace takes advantage of the value of the ‘Weight’ of tectonic walls, its stone, its rigour and its range by introducing a temporal level, with freedom, of the values of our time.
The new building is understood as the limit of the garden an ‘Inhabited Wall’, transparent about the new courtyard, the Palace and the city recovered. A wall that houses the functions of living complemented in outdoor spaces that extend and potentiate their experiences.
With a location of choice in the traditional centre of the city of Lisbon, Condes de Murça Palace comprises 2 buildings-the Palace Building and the Garden Building. With just 24 apartments in a privileged space inserted between the green of the gardens and the proximity of the river between the charm of old details and contemporary features, provides a life full of rest.
‘An intervention, a project must put in evidence the values found reading, selecting, and underscoring a legacy of time and history.’ Frederico Valsassina and Aires Mateus
