Powerhouse Arts is a not-for-profit manufacturing facility based in Gowanus and Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York, established to create a robust platform for art production and employment in the arts. Consisting of 170,000 square feet of workshop space for fabrication in wood, metal, ceramics, textile and print, the redevelopment project transforms an existing, derelict structure on a contaminated site into a center for artists, fabricators and other workers and ensures that the industrial legacy of the site will extend into the next century. WHAT
We open up the Museum, integrate it with the park and connect it to the surrounding neighborhood. Like urban acupuncture we improve the circulation in and around the Museum by creating new access points, opening arteries, animating many types of experiences and enhancing the ongoing regeneration of the Exarchia neighborhood. The Museum and the City become one. The extended and revitalized National Archaeological Museum will become an urban magnet and a place for ALL – museum visitors, tourists, scholars and the citizens of Athens at large. Herzog & de Meuron

Rosentalturm, “Rooseli”, consists of three buildings: the tower at the Messeplatz, the slab building along Riehenstrasse and a pavilion occupying the newly created public open space between. This new public green space, located within the project perimeter, extends the current Rosentalanlage with a planted grove of trees.
