Lowell were commissioned as architect and builder to remodel and extend a mid-terraced Edwardian property in South London. The works included significant structural alterations, opening up the ground floor to create a large, multi-functional family space, incorporating a 3m deep full width rear extension, plus the refurbishment of the first floor including two bathrooms. ‘Haus Zaugg’ stands on the edge of the historical village centre of Andermatt, in close proximity to the newlydeveloped tourist zones over the last few years. The five-storey solid wood house, conceived as agenerational project, is based on an in-depth examination of the traditional architecture of the Alpine region.
