The port of Alicante has been advancing towards the sea through successive expansions, from the two simple breakwaters to the large operational docks. Today, these uses are being freed up, presenting a great opportunity for the city to reclaim them as its own. In this privileged spot, we believe that it should not be the urban fabric that extends towards the sea, but rather the other way around, with the sea, with its vitality, encouraging the encounter. When we first entered this house designed by Lluís Vintró 50 years ago, we were speechless. We could smell the 70s aroma in the materials, in the Miguel Milà lamps and in the geometry of the slanted walls that surrounded us, making it difficult to know exactly where you were standing in relation to the entire place. La casa que intervenimos solo tuvo dos inquilinos desde su construcción, hace más de 100 años.
Su último habitante fue un reconocido ebanista que llenó compulsivamente la casa de grandes muebles que apenas te permiten pasar entre ellos. Al entrar uno siente que todo se ha escapado de la corriente del tiempo, todo en la casa se ha amontonado, el tiempo y el espacio. Continue reading Twobo
