SPECIAL SCHOOL AND MULTI-PURPOSE HALL BERNRAIN . Kreuzlingen

Am südwestlichen Rand der Stadt Kreuzlingen befindet sich die Schule Bernrain, eine Sonderschule mit Internat für Kinder mit ADHS oder Autismus. Die Schulanlage mit ihren teils historisch geschützten Bauten wurde einer Gesamterneuerung mit energetischen, statischen und brandschutztechnischen Massnahmen unterzogen und das Raumangebot wurde für einen zeitgemässen Schulbetrieb erweitert. Ortsbauliches Ziel des Entwurfs war es, die Anlage mit ihren heterogenen Bauten unterschiedlicher Entstehungszeit zu einem starken Ensemble zusammenzuführen, pragmatisch und subtil, ohne Anspruch auf tabula rasa des bereits Vorhandenen. Clinic extension . Ganterschwil

Due to the increasing demand for mental health care services at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinic in Ganterschwil, Canton St. Gallen, the institution is being expanded with two new buildings. In addition to a new school building and further therapy rooms, the program is supplemented with an inpatient psychiatric unit for crisis patients.

The project corresponds to the site-specific quality of the surrounding landscape and integrates it into the interior space, considering it an important element of the design. A space sharing typology and access areas reduced to a minimum are the factors for an efficient spatial organisation within the compact building structures. Continue reading Studio Roth
