Overgrown garden
A narrow, elongated hillside plot, an overgrown garden surrounding an old lime tree: The romantic, enchanted character of the site sparked the idea for the design. The interiors as well as the outward appearance of the house take up these specific features: intricacy, diversity, an episodic nature and unexpected moments. Das im Stadtteil Zürich – Höngg gelegene Pflegezentrum Bombach wurde von 1963 – 65 nach den Plänen der Architekten Josef Schütz und Hans von Meyenburg erstellt. Das Ensemble, bestehend aus einem Bettenhaus, Verbindungsgang und Annexbau, liegt eingebettet in eine hanglagige Parkanlage mit altem Baumbestand. 2012 wurde das turmartige Hauptgebäude «Haus A» instand gesetzt.
