RCR Arquitectes

The culmination of a ten year partnership, this is the fifth collaboration between Dubai-based Muraba and Spanish RCR Arquitectes, bringing a shared aspiration to work in harmony with the natural environment, and allowing each location’s unique characteristics to guide the concept. With Dubai’s culture and climate, Muraba and RCR present a new form of skyscraper for the region – an exercise in acclimatising architecture to place, working with nature rather than against it. The CCCB presents the exhibition Hammershøi and Dreyer, bringing together for the first time the bodies of work of the two most universal Danish artists of all time: the painter Vilhelm Hammershøi (Copenhagen, 1864–1916) and the filmmaker Carl Theodor Dreyer (Copenhagen, 1889–1968). The show is a co-production of the CCCB and Copenhagen’s Ordrupgaard. Continue reading RCR

As a result of the close collaboration between the architects and the owners – the Suqué-Mateu family –, the project to build the new winery, by fields of vineyards and a country estate, started to take shape a decade ago. The relationship with the landscape and with the existing building were the main factors in the design of the project, which had to meet the needs of the oenological process and functionality requirements while creating a distinctive identity for the product and the building.
