The Mellinet barracks is a former military site in the centre of Nantes sold to the Metropolis by the State in 2013.
The urban project, carried out by the urban planners TGTFP and Atelier George for Nantes Métropole Aménagement, consists of combining the conservation of certain barracks and the limit of the barracks with the surrounding St Donatien district. In this context, the new Alice Guy School will meet the needs of this emerging residential area while responding to the problem of overcrowding in the school facilities in the centre of Nantes. Habitations privées en accession abordable et en accession libre, locaux d’activités au rez de chaussée, bureaux et ateliers SNCF Réseau, parking silo public et parkings privés des logements, bureaux sur 2 niveaux et terrasse jardin sur la dalle de couverture du parking.
Le grand escalier public sépare les bureaux SNCF Réseau (à gauche) et le parking public (à droite), dont il donne accès dans la continuité de la rue à l’ensemble des niveaux. L’escalier donne également accès à la toiture publique (jardin, restaurant et bureaux).
Vue depuis les quais de Gare, association des différentes entités autonomes qui dialoguent dans une minéralité cohérente.
La trame du parking public est calibrée sur les dimensions des véhicules (antichute) et laisse envisager ses mutations futures. Continue reading RAUM
