It was about designing a welcoming space for the families of patients, a meeting point between family members, center professionals, and patients themselves. It had to be a friendly, familial space, very domestic in terms of dimensions, with emphasis on materials, colors, light, both natural and artificial, and above all, easily relate to the building and existing spaces. La Marina del Prat Vermell is an old area of textile colonies that were established in Barcelona south of Montjuic in the mid-nineteenth century, very close to the sea. They dyed and dried the fabrics on the meadows, which gave the neighborhood its name: “Marina del Prat Vermell”, that is, the Red Meadow Marina. Continue reading MiAS . Coll-Leclerc

Windows, floating rooms into natural light while playfully embracing the friendly interior are the major theme throughout this therapeutic center. Clear lines, concrete floors, wooden roofs mixed with brick stone, and little details such as a table installed upside down under the ceiling itself, work as ironic yet playful and charming comment questioning even perspectives of the supposedly sane in the Therapeutic Center.
