Dado is located in a street mainly defined by brick facades from the early 20th century and some houses in Art Deco style from the interbellum period.

The building has its focus on sunlight and transparency. The front and back façades are fully glazed, and the living spaces run from the front to the back façade, creating a relationship with both the street (east) and the garden (west). Continue reading Delmulle Delmulle

The project was built against a house designed by architect Marie-José Van Hee. A painting by Vermeer, called ‘Het Straatje’, served as an image for Van Hee. The design of the house was to apply the same main rule as Van Hee: responding rigorously respond to the surrounding preconditions and preserving and strengthening the existing dialogue: an answer to her answer. The factory roof housing project is located in Oudenaarde, a provincial town in Belgium, where -according to the planning regulations- only industrial buildings can be built. Because of its central location and the residential character of the area, we presented a different vision to the city: we will utilize the roof, an otherwise unused surface, as a second surface for constructing low-energy roof houses, a small effort for our ever-growing population.
