Our proposal was not to create a museum, a symbol of previous times that have little or nothing to do with ours. We propose instead to build a cool shade house that houses a garden that can become a heat shelter for the city.

This project is born from the political will to create a network of local healthcare buildings, which allow to receive long-term treatments close to home and not have to travel to the capital every day.
The building, which houses day treatments, operates independently of the Hospital, with direct access from a street that is too narrow. The volume is set back to widen the sidewalk and builds with its geometry a small plaza that welcomes the visitor and houses the main access to the building. Continue reading BAAS . CASA Solo

This project designed by the Catalan practice BAAS, headed by Jordi Badia, is located in the Poblenou district of Barcelona, a neighbourhood undergoing constant urban transformation that, in recent years, has been accompanied by a new architecture of singular scattered buildings that are incapable of dialoguing with the traditional pre-existing surroundings to create urban quality. Here, however, as in the case of Can Framis Museum, the office building proposed by Jordi Badia emerges with the purpose of continuing the street block, dialoguing with what was there before and generating quality urban space.
