The rehabilitation of the Siemens Building in Vigo addresses the need to adapt the facilities to the functional requirements of a marine research center. The project is located within the former ETEA complex in the Teis neighborhood, a site characterized by its coastal proximity and the urban guidelines set by the Sectorial Plan for Territorial Management. The intervention integrates the existing building with a newly constructed autonomous volume, designed to house wet laboratories and the most demanding technical areas of the program. The Basque Pelota Interpretation Centre is designed to accommodate programmes focused on the preservation and dissemination of this traditional sport’s cultural and historical heritage.
