This small building from the early 20th century was approximately raised a few decades later. Raising it again is a perilous exercise. The obvious risk is disgrace, brutality and disproportion. Transforming this small hotel into a generator of high-profile architecture is the key to avoiding the conscience of excessive heightening.
The new building is monolithic. Monochrome. White with subtle variations. The architecture created expresses the differences in use and history. The engraved traces of the destroyed elevation can be seen, as can the expression of the terrace canopy, the translation of the preserved cornice of the original hotel, or the reuse of bow windows from the last century.
