Hiding Wood in Trees . 2014
Inspired by one another’s practice, Wilfredo Prieto and Ariel Schlesinger worked collaboratively and independently, sparked by each other’s ideas and playing off one another’s penchant for serendipity and happenstance. The clear affinities between Prieto and Schlesinger stem from a similar witty and inventive approach to everyday materials. In classic Post-Minimalist fashion, both artists divorce objects from their initial function or natural form by introducing them into new contexts or transforming them through poetic gestures.
