An former farmhouse – surrounded by single family houses which sit alongside their inner road infrastructure– formed the base of the project. The dismantling of the agricultural building generated space for the development of five apartments, up to three per house. The orientation and the infrastructure define the placement, the typology and the materiality determine the form. The spacial and the functional arrangement of the open floorplan was affected by the precise placement of the stairs and the cabinets. Upstairs the bedrooms and bathrooms are accessed by a central room that reaches the entire height and depth of the asymmetrical pitched roof. The handrail functions as a superior element in the composition of the façade. With only a few architectural gestures, the project is elevated to a building with a maximum in quality of living, usage and efficiency.
