The wish for openness guides the design of our new project: Casa SO. A house that has the firm conviction to explore a typological approach that inherits ideas from previous projects and finds in this space its maximum expression. The creation of a system of hierarchy and order draws a game board where each space responds to the main premise of the project: to offer connected environments that are able to claim independence when necessary. A kind of infrastructure with a mutable will.
Although this daring proposal demands a refined organization, the way to implement it must be done through a sensitive and even blatant approach. Therefore, a radical and forceful strategic organization is proposed. The housing footprint is divided into three bands of similar size. This is how three programmatic strips are conceptually enabled, which will be gradually colonized. The transformation of the dividing axes into equipped walls allows the entire floor plan to be delimited. These elements become fundamental lines in the general approach, since they not only take on a service function as closets, but also become perforated to enable transition between rooms. The result is a sequence of framed views that enhance the continuity and breadth of the entire composition.
On the other hand, the beginning and end of these strips are completely open to the outside in order to establish a clear relationship with the exterior. This achieves a flexible layout that emphasizes access to natural light. The server spaces are concentrated in the center of the composition completely freeing everything that happens around. This approach is replicated in all floors of the project with the desire to enhance the concept to its ultimate consequences.
In terms of aesthetics, the combination of neutral and ochre materials defines an atmosphere that breathes a harmony that brings it closer to Mediterranean ideals. Brick is used as the common thread that shapes the narrative of the project. The versatility of this material solution helps to build the content and continent of the entire house, while its expressiveness gives character to each atmosphere. This brick is combined with other natural materials such as oak wood or travertine marble. Connecting floors, an imposing staircase made of stainless steel presides over the entrance hall and welcomes visitors.

El deseo de apertura guía el diseño de la nueva Casa SO. Una vivienda que tiene la firme convicción de explorar un planteamiento tipológico que hereda ideas de proyectos anteriores y que encuentra en este espacio su máxima expresión. La creación de un sistema de jerarquía y orden dibuja un tablero de juego donde cada espacio responde a la premisa principal del proyecto: ofrecer ambientes conectados que, a su vez, sean capaces de reclamar la independencia que cada uno de ellos merece. Una especie de infraestructura con voluntad mutable. Si bien esta atrevida propuesta demanda de una organización depurada, la forma de aplicarlo debe realizarse a través de una aproximación sensible e incluso descarada. Por ello, se plantea una organización estratégica radical y contundente. Se divide la huella de la vivienda en tres bandas de tamaño similar. Es así como conceptualmente se habilitan tres franjas programáticas que irán poco a poco colonizándose. La transformación de los ejes divisorios en muros equipados permite acotar toda la planta. Estos elementos pasan a convertirse en líneas fundamentales en el planteamiento general ya que no solo toman función servicial a modo de armarios, sino que además van perforándose para habilitar los pasos entre estancias. El resultado es una secuencia de vistas encuadradas que ensalzan la continuidad y amplitud de toda la composición. Por su parte, el inicio y final de estas franjas se abren por completo hacia el exterior con el fin de establecer una relación evidente con lo que sucede fuera. Es así como se consigue un esquema flexible que enfatiza ese acceso a la luz natural. Los espacios servidores se concentran en el centro de la composición liberando por completo todo lo que ocurre alrededor. Este esquema de orden se replica en todas las plantas del proyecto con el deseo de llevar el concepto hasta sus últimas consecuencias. En lo referido a la estética, la combinación de materiales neutros y ocres define una atmósfera que respira armonía y se acerca a los ideales mediterráneos. El ladrillo se utiliza como el hilo conductor que da forma a la narrativa del proyecto. La versatilidad de esta solución material ayuda a construir el contenido y continente de toda la casa, mientras que su expresividad da carácter a cada atmósfera. Ese ladrillo se combina con otros materiales también naturales como la madera de roble o el mármol travertino. Conectando plantas, una imponente escalera realiza en acero inoxidable preside el hall de entrada y da la bienvenida.
