The new building for the Canton of Aargau Consumer Protection Office (AVS) has been completed. The old premises of AVS in the City of Aarau required renovation and no longer met modern requirements in terms of space. The new building on the campus in Unterentfelden brings all offices and laboratories together in one location. The AVS protects human and animal health, monitors chemicals, carries out inspections, tests laboratory samples and processes reports from the public.

The two-story pavilion is being built using a concrete-wood hybrid construction. The concrete core protects the laboratories with high oscillation requirements from vibrations. Further laboratories on the first floor and the offices on the ground floor are organized concentrically around the concrete core. The outer layer is made of wood from the Aargau state forest, shortening construction time.

On the ground floor, under the solid concrete core, an open space is being created. In addition to traditional offices, this offers a place for open, spontaneous meetings, interactions, visitor stays, and events.
