The school complex forms a distinct architectural figure within the urban landscape. The three school buildings, each from a different era, are arranged in a row along the northern edge of the site. Set back from the main road, they create a spacious outdoor area with a sports field that can be further developed. To the northwest, the school transitions into a residential area, while to the northeast, it borders an industrial zone. The complex is surrounded on three sides by tall chestnut trees, which will be retained as they provide a clear spatial division.
The new multi-purpose building is positioned in the northeast corner to accommodate both its school and community functions. It aligns with the existing tree-lined avenue that runs from the main road towards the industrial zone. This alignment strengthens the axis and separates pedestrian traffic for daily school use from public access to the museum or events in the hall. The compact building design maximizes the available outdoor space. A new gravel plaza, adjacent to the southwest façade, can be used flexibly for various activities and can be adapted to future needs. Freestanding seating areas, raised beds, and planters offer versatility. The footpath from the neighboring residential area is straightened and connected to the new plaza via a ramp, providing a new perspective towards the Fricktal valley. This enhances the connection between the school and the residential area.·
