Two houses . Ponte de Lima

A very steep terrain. Two houses with the same program. And two themes to explore:
– To nestle into the landscape, seeking sensations of shelter, closeness, and a gentle touch.
– To rise above the slope, aiming for a view that elevates, distant, and deep towards the mountains.
Two houses, a single program, two purposes that make no sense when separated. As Fernando Tavora used to say in his classes: “… in architecture, the opposite is also true.”
