FY Studio . London
Retrofitting an old lock-up garage on an historic East London cobbled mews, we have created FY Studio, a light-filled, compact and flexible live-work space. By reusing a longstanding, familiar building, we retain the character of the mews bringing social benefits as well as being environmentally sustainable. Flexibility is also key so that people can adapt and change the studio extending the buildings lifespan and providing for long term viability.
The open plan spaces are linked by a double height space over the entrance and stairs, angled to create generosity and delight. Spaces are kept undefined so there is flex as to how the studio is used, this is helped by an internal glazed screen wall and sliding mirrored doors.
