Lake Blausee was formed by a rockfall about 15,000 years ago. This unique place with its nature- protected forest has been a popular tourist destination since the 19th century. The three new forest houses are located in the middle of the forest and extend the offer of the existing hotel.
Architectural engagement with the site has resulted in a design that showcases the forest and its unspoiled beauty and strengthens the identity of the place. Naturally nestled in nature, the forest houses stand on delicate steel supports and only gently touch the rocks. All three bear their own names, in keeping with their specific character. The «Mooshaus” (Moss House) sits between two rocks overgrown with moss. The «Steinhaus” (Stone House) stands overlooking the treetops on a rock above a steep slope. And the “Waldhaus” (Forest House) is in the midst of trees. From each room, large window openings look out into the breathtaking forest.
Each of the forest houses is exclusively furnished and has a living area and a sleeping area with a bathroom. The homely interior of the forest houses makes the experience in the middle of nature unique.
