The present project aims to recover the southern end of the Mallabia town centre, which has been degraded by an old open sewage treatment plant, and transform it into a kind of open infrastructure, a leisure and sports condenser that dispenses with envelopes to become a street and defend its free and intense use.
General objectives
_ Holistic vision. Infrastructural rotundity. The action is linked to pragmatic radicality, celebrating efficiency, resource optimisation and simplicity. The new Zubitegi Kirol Parkea deploys a formal radicality that seeks to facilitate the free and intensive use of its facilities.
_ Integrative and connected intervention. The intervention starts by generating an accessible network of paths and connections that provide a new network of friendly paths for people with reduced mobility and generate a new connection network with the lower part of Mallabia and
Ermua. This network of cycle paths becomes in turn an integrated experience on the natural layer of the stream.
_ Inclusive and multigenerational park: Safe, friendly and friendly. Well lit and without black spots, with infrastructures to carry out adapted and enriching sports and activities. Focused on generating an immersive and unique experience from the creativity of its proposals and variety of activities and uses.
_ Regenerative and sustainable project: the project is not limited to building a series of sports infrastructures, but through its construction it recovers the margin of the Zubitegi stream, strengthens its flora and fauna and regenerates the ecosystem greatly damaged by the old water treatment plant. Sport and its infrastructures as an excuse to gain natural land and to educate environmentally while we enjoy our leisure and physical activity.
_ Regional reference infrastructure The opportunity to provide Mallabia with a sports node must be understood beyond the strict limits of the project and think of an adaptive and gradual strategy from which to address a unique sports use that structures the southern part of the municipality and adds value and appeal to the region. To achieve this, a relational entity is created that seeks a new notion of beauty, drawing, step by step, a latent garden of the existing and the new, the natural and the built, the historical and the symbolic. A living infrastructure for the territory, for its residents and its visitors.
_ Minimize earthworks and reuse what has been demolished. A construction is proposed that minimizes demolitions and is capable of recycling what has been demolished in the form of gravel or aggregates for pavements.
_ Superficial foundations: deep or buried foundations are not proposed, to minimize operations, all of which are carried out superficially. Facilitating assembly and reducing costs and impact on the land.
_ Serial and modular construction. All of this focused on an industrialized dry construction that increases performance and reduces time and impact.

La técnica es la respuesta. ¿Pero cuál era la pregunta? No es un centro de ocio No es un polideportivo ¿Puede ser un parque? Puede ser un anti-building. Ojalá Al menos un edificio sin interior Un edificio vacío. El presente proyecto tiene por objetivo recuperar el extremo sur del casco de Mallabia degradado por una antigua depuradora abierta y transformarlo en una suerte de infraestructura abierta, un condensador de ocio y deporte que prescinde de envolventes para ser calle y defender su uso libre e intenso. Objetivos generales _ Vision holística. Rotundidad infraestructural. La actuación se entronca en la radicalidad pragmática, celebrando la eficiencia, la optimización de recursos y la simplicidad, el nuevo Zubitegi Kirol Parkea despliega una radicalidad formal que busca facilitar el uso libre e intensivo de sus instalaciones. _ Intervención integradora y conectada. La intervención parte de generar una red accesible de caminos y conexiones que aportan una nueva red de caminos amables para las personas de movilidad reducida y generan una nueva red de conexión con la parte baja de Mallabia y Ermua. Esta red de caminos ciclables se convierte a su vez en una experiencia integrada sobre la capa de naturaleza del arroyo. _ Parque inclusivo y multigeneracional: Seguro, amable y amigable. Bien iluminado y sin puntos negros, con infraestructuras para realizar actividades y deportes adaptados y enriquecedores. Centrados en generar una experiencia inmersiva, y singular desde la creatividad de sus propuestas y variedad de actividades y usos. _ Proyecto regenerador y sostenible: el proyecto no se limita a construir una serie de infraestructuras deportivas, si no que a través de su construcción recupera el margen del arroyo Zubitegi, fortalece su flora y fauna y regenera el ecosistema muy dañado por la antigua central de tratamiento de aguas. El deporte y sus infraestructuras como excusa para ganar terreno natural y para educar medioambientalmente mientras disfrutamos de nuestro ocio y actividad física. _ Infraestructura referente comarcal La oportunidad de dotar de un nodo deportivo a Mallabia debe entenderse más allá de los límites estrictos del proyecto y pensar una estrategia adaptativa y gradual desde la que abordar un uso deportivo singular que estruture la parte Sur del municipio y aporte valor y atractivo a la comarca. Para ello, se genera un ente relacional que busca una nueva noción de belleza, dibujando, paso a paso, un jardín latente de lo existente y lo nuevo, lo natural y lo construido, lo histórico y lo simbólico. Una infraestructura viva para el territorio, para sus vecinos y sus visitantes. _ Minimizar movimientos de tierras y reutilizar lo derribado. Se propone una construcción que minimice los derribos y que sea capaz de reciclar lo derribado en forma de zahorras o áridos para pavimentos. _ Cimentaciones superficiales: no se plantean cimentaciones profundas, ni enterradas, para minimizar operaciones todas ellas se realizan de manera superficial. Facilitando montaje y reduciendo costes e impacto al terreno. _Construcción seriada y modular. Todo ello enfocado hacia una construcción industrializada en seco que aumente prestaciones y disminuya plazo e impacto.
