The project involves two newly constructed identical summer houses in Rågeleje. Each house, measuring 84 square meters, has a simple exterior but offers a wealth of spatial variations. Externally, they are clad with vertical, untreated spruce boards. The windows are made of mahogany, with some featuring aluminum. Inside, the walls are lined with painted profile boards with bead moldings. The ceilings are clad with plywood.
The placement of the houses has been adjusted to preserve the trees. The houses are built on screw foundations to minimize CO2 emissions and avoid damaging the root systems of the old trees on the property. The simple wooden construction, with a central column at the core of the plan, is both resource-conscious and economical, allowing for two simple houses with a multitude of spatial experiences, views and lighting situations.
