The concept is based on creation of a monolithic, earthy-toned sculptures, that sit between coastal dunes and marshes of this beautiful land. The landscape, being a dramatic and the most important feature in the project, is put in the spotlight by the neutral color palette, materials, natural interiors, and of course, the several large openings and windows framing this unique combination of habitats. A river flows through the center of the area and has its mouth into the Ocean in the nearby dunes. Due to the presence of this river, marshes were formed, which are a paradise for birds. The resort is meant to take in the elements – sand, mud, water, air, sun, with an attitude of letting greenery create a serene oasis.
The resort is built around the artificial reservoir, created from the river that flows here. The pond is a central point of the resort. It is a source of water for the indoor oasis. Emphasizing the regional dimension of the project, the main landscaped areas in the project express a wetland scenery with indigenous vegetation. Channels that flow from the river and pond, irrigate gardens and the surrounding marsh. The architecture of the resort enables various types of relaxation in nature. The area offers retreat by the pond, in public and private indoor gardens, and courtyards overlooking the surroundings: dunes, marshes, and nearby Ocean. This approach evolves to create a project that will be one large oasis. Full of lush greenery, water features, and shadowed spaces, this central area establishes the main outdoor experience. Designed benches are drawn from the same inspirations as buildings, and complete the architecture. The resort is accessed via a dike.
The 2600 m2 resort has been divided into 3 zones: the main pavilion, an area with suites, and wellness space. All of those zones are dictated by the internal reservoir. You’re welcomed by an entryway with an indoor garden, which is leading to the enclosed courtyard. Near is the pond, which is located in the heart of the resort. The main pavilion accommodates – reception, lobby, bistro, and fireplace area. The second volume accommodates the wellness area. There’s a yoga studio, various types of saunas, and a massage room. The yoga studio has an open-air space with the largest view of the marsh. The resort offers 16 guestrooms: 24 rooms of 30m2, 4 rooms of area 65m2, 4 rooms of area 90m2. From each room, guests can appreciate the natural beauty of the surroundings and the region’s mesmerizing light play throughout the day. Sunrises and sunsets here dictate the palette of colors and moods, while the structure casts shadows on the walls and the earthy floors as light shifts.Totems that are swifts towers will grow out of the dunes. The towers will be located near the resort. Birds feeding in the surroundings will be able to breed here. The design of the towers refers to the architecture of the resort. Drawing inspiration from modernist structures by masters Unité d’habitation – Le Corbusier, or Casa Luis Barragán, the towers look like they have grown out of the sand. However, the inhabitants will not be people, but those useful species of birds that have a harsh fate related to the modernization and insulation of contemporary buildings, through which they lose their homes. This approach to the design of the resort will make an oasis in which nature and people coexist together.
