The situation of deterioration and degradation in which this environment of the Barrio de la Villa and the Walls of the Castle was found, motivated the realization of the present intervention on the remains of the southern section of the medieval Wall; always combining archaeological research with attempts to restore and consolidate existing wall structures.
On the other hand, the particular geological-geotechnical problems of the area, related to phenomena associated with the situation of instability presented by the edge of the slope where the action is located, and which caused permanent damage to said structures, precipitated the need to act against to the risk of landslides that existed and that could have affected not only the conservation of heritage but also the houses that sit on this highly degraded edge of the Villa (houses on Ana de la Rosa and Tinte streets)
The actions carried out involve the consolidation and recovery of the Wall in the section that runs parallel to Ana de la Rosa street, as well as the structural consolidation of the slope that descends towards the back of Tinte street. In addition, with these actions, the risk of slipping in the most dangerous section has been eliminated.
From the constructive point of view, the sum of innovative methodologies in the heritage field (consolidation injections) with local and traditional rehabilitation and reconstruction techniques of stone factories, defines the character of the intervention. In this way it has been possible to eliminate the risk of landslides, the damaged sections of the Wall have been consolidated, new walls have been rebuilt where we found lost sections and new routes have been created that provide new perspectives.
This intervention involves the consolidation and recovery of the Medieval Wall, allows the integration of the walled enclosure into the urban fabric as well as the Enhancement of this Heritage Enclave, with Iberian, Roman and Medieval defensive structures, of transcendental importance due to the impact that the recovery of this property means socially and culturally for the inhabitants of the Barrio de la Villa in particular and the Egabrenses in general

La situación de deterioro y degradación en que se encontraba este entorno del Barrio de la Villa y las Murallas del Castillo, motivó la realización de la presente intervención sobre los restos del tramo sur de la Muralla medieval; aunando siempre la investigación arqueológica con los intentos de restauración y consolidación de las estructuras murárias existentes. Por otra parte, la particular problemática geológico-geotécnica de la zona, relacionada con fenómenos asociados a la situación de inestabilidad que presentaba el borde de ladera donde se ubica la actuación, y que provocó daños permanentes en dichas estructuras, precipitó la necesidad de actuar frente al riesgo de deslizamiento que existía y que podía haber afectado no solo a la conservación del patrimonio sino también a la viviendas que se asientan en este borde tan degradado de la Villa (viviendas de las calles Ana de la Rosa y Tinte) Las actuaciones realizadas, supone la consolidación y recuperación de la Muralla en el tramo que discurre paralelo a la calle Ana de la Rosa, así como la consolidación estructural del talud que desciende hacia las traseras de la calle Tinte. Además, con estas actuaciones, se ha eliminado el riesgo de deslizamiento en el tramo de mayor peligrosidad. Desde el punto de vista constructivo, la suma de metodologías innovadoras el ámbito patrimonial (inyecciones de consolidación) con técnicas de rehabilitación y reconstrucción locales y tradicionales de fábricas pétreas, define el carácter de la intervención. De este modo ha sido posible eliminar el riesgo de deslizamiento, se han consolidado las secciones dañadas de la Muralla, reconstruido nuevos muros donde encontrábamos secciones perdidas y creado nuevos recorridos que proporcionan nuevas perspectivas. La presente intervención supone la consolidación y recuperación de la Muralla Medieval, permite la integración del recinto amurallado en el tejido urbano además de la Puesta en Valor de este Enclave Patrimonial, con estructuras defensivas ibéricas, romanas y medievales, de una importancia trascendental por el impacto que la recuperación de este bien significa social y culturalmente para los habitantes del Barrio de la Villa en particular y los egabrenses en general.
