The new Primary Health Centre is integrated into the urban plot of Sabadell, next to the old country house of Can Llong, built in the 16th century and with volumetric protection for its architectural value.
The building is organized around a linear axis of circulation that connects the 4 programmatic volumes and opens visually, along its entire length, to the farmhouse and the new pedestrian area that connects to the existing civic center. These volumes are adapted to the topography and rotate slightly allowing the appearance of green courtyards that help to preserve the privacy of the offices and waiting rooms while introducing nature inside the building.
Wood and ceramics are the natural materials present in the interior spaces, that create a relaxed atmosphere of well-being together with the naturalization of the patios, essential for the users of the health center.
On the main façade, the decision to set back the volume than the plot limit allows to create an access square that helps to give representativeness to the building and dignify the access.
In terms of materialization, exposed ceramic tile is used as the façade skin, as a local and low-maintenance material.
Passive solutions as cross-ventilation, natural lighting of spaces, the use of rainwater for irrigation and solar protections achieve to make an energy-efficient building with a good ecological footprint and a class A energy rating.

El nuevo CAP se integra en la trama urbana de Sabadell, junto a la Masia de Can Llong, construida el siglo XVI y con protección volumétrica por su valor arquitectónico. El edificio se organiza a partir de un eje lineal de circulación que conecta los 4 volúmenes programáticos y se abre visualmente, a lo largo de todo su recorrido, a la masía y a la nueva zona peatonal que conecta con el centro cívico existente. Estos volúmenes se adaptan a la topografía y giran ligeramente permitiendo la aparición de unos patios vegetales que ayudan a preservar la intimidad de les consultorios y las salas de espera a la vez que introducen la naturaleza en el interior del edificio. Los materiales naturales de los espacios interiores con la madera y la cerámica, así como la naturalización de los patios consiguen crear una atmosfera relajada y de bienestar imprescindible para los usuarios de este servicio. La decisión de retrasar la volumetría respeto al límite de la parcela en la fachada principal permite generar una plaza de acceso que ayuda dotar de representatividad al edificio y a dignificar el acceso. En cuanto a la materialización, se utiliza la cerámica vista como piel de fachada, un material de proximidad y de bajo mantenimiento. Las soluciones pasivas de ventilación cruzada, la iluminación natural de todos los espacios, el aprovechamiento del agua de lluvia para riego y las protecciones solares consiguen un edificio eficiente energéticamente, con una buena huella ecológica y una clasificación energética clase A.
