Single-family house transformation from the 1930s in Berlin-Biesdorf. Together with the owner we aim for a sustainable upgrading. We are trying to reuse as much material as possible, such as doors, windows, stairs and wooden beams.

Explorations for a tower 2022 : A collage of technique, scale, material, focus, experiment, intention, iteration.
The practice of architecture is increasingly one conditioned by technology and sophisticated digital modelling platforms. Coupled to this phenomenon, is the new hybrid working practice omnipresent in the wake of the global pandemic. These practices, have liberated the design process, given freedom to skilled designers to articulate their vision across time and geographic borders, and heralded a new culture of bedroom creative laboratories. However, alongside this revolution, we continue to strive for human contact, for face-to-face interaction and the ‘haptic’ importance of the design process in the evolution of every project; the smell of wet plaster, the weight of stone in your hand, the accuracy of the scalpel in a skilled hand, the craft of a scalpel in a skilled hand, the joy of striking formwork, the meticulous nature of building in miniature. Our challenge is to unite these disciplines to create time/place/programme specific future outcomes.

Located north of Georgetown, Kentucky, the new 35,000-square-foot distillery and 20,000-square-foot rickhouse for Blue Run Spirits will break ground in 2023 and is expected to open in 2025. The architecture for the Blue Run distillery and HQ celebrates the art of whiskey-making, sustainable technologies, and the landscape of Kentucky.
