The Factory . Manchester
The opening plans for Factory International, Manchester’s new landmark cultural space, has been announced. The OMA-designed venue will welcome its first visitors in June 2023.
With a total area of 13,350 square meters, the building will offer multiple configurations, hosting a broad range of art forms from major exhibitions and large-scale concerts to intimate performances and immersive experiences. At street level, Factory International’s public spaces along the River Irwell will further animate the neighborhood with activities such as concerts, markets and workshops.
Factory International is OMA’s first major public project in the UK. The project was led by Ellen van Loon with Carol Patterson and Gary Owen.
