PENTHOUSE IN CHAMBERI . Madrid

PRÁCTICA . photos: © David Zarzoso

This project consisting of the integral refurbishment of a penthouse is located in the ChamberI, neighborhood of Madrid. Given the limited space, the project seeks to integrate into a single volume all storage spaces and at the same time clearly differentiate public and private uses in two distinct areas.

The central walnut wood cabinet becomes the backbone of the house. On the one hand, it hides both storage and appliances inside, to avoid their constant presence in the house. On the other hand, its central and elongated position allows separating the house into two distinct areas. On one side, the living room and kitchen expand the spatial perception of the house. On the other side, more private rooms such as bedrooms, bathroom and circulation remain separated from the views and noises of the daytime area.

In the kitchen, the island continues to become a bench, providing this program axis with a large and versatile living area. The materiality of the house in neutral and natural tones, give continuity to the intervention.
